Alaska Cruises
The Empress of the North offers Alaska Inside Passage cruises. Cruise guests have the opportunity to see the "real" Alaska, up close, since steamboats have a shallow draft and can go where larger cruise ships cannot.
This cruise is perfect for persons who enjoy small ship cruising, concentrating on wildlife viewing and history. Visit famous gold rush towns and learn about the trappers, gold seekers, and explorers who "built" Alaska.
The Northwest Rivers of the United States Pacific Northwest offer some of the most scenic cruising available with lush forests, rugged canyons, unique bridges, magnificant waterfalls, wildlife habitats, historical venues, more locks and dams than a Panama Canal cruise.
Empress of The North Information
The authentically replicated Empress of The North allows passengers to step back in time to a bygone era while still enjoying all the modern day conveniences and amenities.
The ambiance is casual elegance, however, the ship is luxuriously decorated in 1800's style with onboard galleries filled with Russian artwork, Faberge' eggs, nesting dolls, wildlife and western settlement paintings, and Native American treasures.
Public rooms are spacious and comfortable. The 233 guests will not feel crowded and have plenty of of space in which to mingle -- from the Paddlewheel Lounge to the Calliope Bar and Grill. The Golden Nugget showroom is the ultimate in opulence and offerrs delightfully, delicious cuisine.
Staterooms are elegant with with outside views. Most have private verandahs.
Standard staterooms feature luxurious custom deluxe mattresses on a queen bed or two twins, mini-bar, clock radio, CD player, phone, color TV, 24-hour bow cam (you can always see where the ship is going from your stateroom), DVD player with free movies, individual climate control, bath with massage shower head, makeup mirror, deluxe towels, hair dryer, premium robes, clothes line, ample storage, and writing desk.
